One More Attempt at Breeding Popeye and Black Betty
Ok we will try this again. Betty seemed extremely restless the last few weeks and for that matter, so did Popeye but not quite to that degree. Neither of them ate the last few feedings and it seems like its about that time of the year so why not? Popeye will go in Bettys Neodesha for weekend flings the next few weeks and we'll see if there is any lockup. *fingers crossed*

Don't forget some Barry White or R. Kelly, along with candle light. LOL But on a serious note you could try little misting at night to help stimulate early spring and rainy season. I don't remember where but i read someone doing these with their boas after a couple fail attempts and it worked. After that he started doing it every year with a 98% success rate.

Popeye is such a horndog. He's been relentless since I put him in with Betty.

Re: One More Attempt at Breeding Popeye and Black Betty
Gary, if you're successful, I'd love to have a female from the pairing. The idea that I may have an animal that has Black Betty's potential would be awesome. I love the big ones
BTW, I had to pull up some pics of Black Betty on my phone from the forum. I showed her off to a couple of people who have dumerils and breed them. They were awed over her beauty and size

Re: One More Attempt at Breeding Popeye and Black Betty
Thank you for your kind words Rogue. If Betty becomes gravid due to this pairing, you will be on my list. Keep in mind though, the gestation for Dums is very long; usually about 7-9 months. I did try this before, a couple of years ago, but it did not take. That said, I would love to sell you one of her babies if she has any.

Re: One More Attempt at Breeding Popeye and Black Betty
After seeing a couple of baby dumerils at the expo today, I feel like I've missed out on something wonderful when I rescued my two adults.
