Before I laugh at the hilarity of the situation, was the snake ok?

Re: Why we call our sunglow"the dumb blonde"
She is 7 ish ft and 16 lbs. I will wait to see when she lets go of herself. I figure damage done if any. I am not about to try to free her from herself and possibly have my hand be next. When she figures it out and is eating the prey I will have a look. I'm sure she is fine. Just not to smart.

Re: Why we call our sunglow"the dumb blonde"
Oh geez no, never get involved in a situation like that, lol. She'll figure it out eventually and there won't be any damage except for a couple of little scrapes that'll fix themselves with a moult.
One of my Bloods was chewing on himself a few times (3 separate times in total) during his last feeding. He just got himself worked up and instead of the rat he was chewing on his own body over and over and over. It's a horrible sound to hear those teeth catching on their own scales, but it's entirely too unsafe to get involved with a large constrictor that's in food mode

That'll help, and it goes to show how much power they use, even on themselves, and it illustrates why to never get involved in that type of situation. This is a really good example of that

Yup I wasn't going to mess with her. She's fine and yes she has done this before. I guess this means all rabbits from now on. To big to miss

No, I know you have more sense than that, but it's a good example for other folks who might think it'd be a safe thing to reach in to a large constrictor's cage and try to fix the situation. That'd be a good way to make the evening news as another statistic

I have felt her squeeze my arm hard enough to make the veins in my hand swell right up and that was just holding on. Can't imagine "the death grip". There would be no getting her off. Besides she was the moron. Not me
It is hard to watch your snake hurt themself. Even when you know they will be fine

Re: Why we call our sunglow"the dumb blonde"
I've seen this happen a time or two. The only one I ever worried about was a King snake. I kinda thought he might "Jabba the Hut" himself.
