Aggressive or defensive behavior towards my pooch.
My new hog island boa has gotten out of it's shipping funk and has settled quite nicely except for when my border collie trots into the snake alcove, my dog pays no mind to my snakes whatsoever. The first time I witnessed this behavior i was chilling with my hog in my recliner then my dog comes plodding up to me for some scratchin and lovin and I heard the snake start to hiss and lightning fast he struck at my dog's face narrowly missing it. Needless to say now they are never in the same room together. All the snakes I have have never shown any defensive behavior towards my dog even my late BCI. What ya think? This happened to you?

It happens with some snakes, hard to blame them honestly.
I'd never risk having my snake around dogs or cats, its simply not worth the risk to the dog/cat or my snake.

i think if i exposed my adult carpets to a dog,they would go for it as well
just gotta love a fiesty snake

Funny I wonder if a big carpet would see it as food or a threat. Seeing as how my hog is only three feet i think it was threatened by my pooch.

imo a big adult carpet might see it as food
they can put away some large prey items 
imo,a large Coastal,or a large Diamond,would give it a go

My snakes ignore my dog and she ignores them. My King has darted out at her walking by but thats it. My carpets(even my 7.5ft female) do nothing.

I had a pair of baby retics wrap my wrists together, and one swallowed my finger when the cat walked into the bathroom and I was giving them a bath lol.

I always gotta keep my cat away from the enclosures at about 5 days after a feed.... annoying for the cat as she loves sleeping on the warm tanks. By the 10th day of after feeding they start to "track" her movements. Haven't had them strike at the glass yet as they get a feed once I start to notice this behaviour lol.

When I first got my first kitten, one of my burms tried to strike at him through her cage. Every since then, I don't allow the cats (I have 3) around the snakes. I put the cats outside or in a different room while I feed, do cage maintenance, etc. I even wash my hands before touching a snake after having anything to do with the cats. It's not a risk I'm willing to take and I try to err on the side of caution as much as possible.
However, my royals don't seem to mind the cats.

Mt SD Retic is the only one that pays attention to the cats and dog, partly why he isnt a floor level, one time the cat reared onto its rear legs to look into the tank and the snake immediately started striking at it.
Our Jungle Carpet is at floor levle and will track the cats as they walk by but doesnt strike at them,.
Whenever we are getting hte snakes out for handling the dogs and cats are put out of the room and shut out until the snakes are locked away again.

If my dog walks past the GTP enclosure at night she stalks him, my BP will also hunt my dog if he's out and the dog comes into the room...
