OTHER THAN APPEARANCE what are the differences between BCI, BCC

I know there is humidity, breeding, and growth rate, but how about temperment, or feeding response.

I know i said other than appearence but i've never heard about skin texture, or shape,

anybody????

scale counts perhaps? (or does that fall under "appearance" since it pertains to the outward anatomy of the snake?)

Feeding response tends to be as good except they prefer smaller meals than the BCI. BCI are voracious feeders and eat everything. BCC tend to need smaller meals as larger meals they tend to regurge.

It's kinda like owning a rolex. If you gotta have a real one get a bcc if the still expensive imitation rolex that is very close to real and only someone totally into watches would notice is ok get a bci. Both are great to own very similar but if you need it to be a "real" boa you need a bcc. I have 2 bci's and they are both look fantastic. I personaly would not shell out extra cash just to be able to say I have a bcc.

On a side note I was at the Toronto zoo and asked the snake handler if the boa she had for her demonstartion was a bcc or a bci and she was like "huh? Its Colombian". And she is an expert?? Right

Those keepers are very misinformed. It's rather weird that they don't at least know the latin names BUT to become a zookeeper you only need paperwork from a university. They couldn't care less what the actual experience is.

.... Everything is better when you own a bcc.
Aaron has summed it up nicely for you.

It's not about how much they cost, or your need to brag about owning a bcc.
Bcc's are not even close to being one of the "high priced snakes," and very few reptile enthusiasts give a damn weather it's a bco, bci, bcc and so on. If you're looking to get a great looking boa constrictor, spend a little extra and go with a bcc.

When purchasing a bcc, purchase it from a reputable breeder. (I don't think I need to explain why)

To the op;
Saddle count, althought not always aquarate.
Price, you're looking to spend $100's more for a nice bloodline.
Feeding response it different in each individual, but they're all mild.
Bcc are more prone to regurgitating because they have a slow digestive system and therefore can only handle smaller meals.

I agree. Great looking boas and I wasn't knocking one or the other. The comment but everything being better is exactly what I meant. Only a few people care...but the ones who do truly do!!

Great, thanks a lot for the info. And I've seen BCCs with humongous girth. That can be attained by feeding small meals?

Don't BCC's also tend to get larger than BCI's and grow slower due to smaller meals?
