Re: Water crystals
I've heard people using it, but it's questionable. This product is polychrylamide, which is non-toxic. However, because it's an agricultural product there is often acrylamide in it. Acrylamide is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. It also should be kept at room temperature and not allowed to heat up as it can breakdown into acrylamide as a result.

Re: Water crystals
Why not just buy the calcium gutload crystals, I only use about 2 jars a year. It works for roaches too.
When they dry out, pour a little water on the dried out stuff, and it comes right back.

Re: Water crystals
You can also buy the food grade ones from places like Repashy. It's more expensive as they actually eat it, but not in a major way.
