Hog Island ON THE WAY !!!!

I had decided my next snake would be a ball morph of some kind , until i saw the pics on here of a couple hog island boas , i guess you could say i fell in love .. So after some awesome advice from Tekpc007 i have my new 2010 Hog Island female scheduled to arrive wed ... Her cage is ready and waiting .. I will post some pics ASAP i promise ..

Cool, congrats! I was also deciding between a Hog and a Royal Python morph in the beginning. I am so happy with my Hog, he's an awesome snake and just keeps getting more and more beautiful as he grows. Can't wait to see the pictures!

awesome , my male arrives tomorrow morning. Remeber they like it cooler , 88 warm side , low 70's cool side and 65% humidity. msg me if you need any advice on husbandry/setup. Mine was fine in a 105 qt tub for quite a while.

Yeah i am checking my temps tonight and adjusting before she arrives wed. Humidity in my snake room runs around 65 to 70 all the time , She will be in a 40 gallon breeder til my boamaster arrives , how long did it take to get your boamaster Tekpc007

it was a craigslist score from a guy down the street so i got it the next day , but the boamaster guy says he ships them in about 5 days normally.

did the Gal who is shipping them tell you she is feeding them mice? The male she is sending is on mice so ill will keep him on mice for a while then try to get him on rats as my female is eating small rats now.

Yeah she told me about the mice , i told her i raised rats and had tons in the freezer of all sizes so i will try to swap her over if she will let me .. Looks like we are gonna have clutch mates , or would it be litter mates ..

once you get her settled and ensure she is eating well you can also try the occasional meal of chicks as a 'treat'

so you must have her by now , where is she ? PICS ! PICS ! My female 2010 from them is on medium rats every 15 days but she is 53 inches now and 1650 grams.

Looks great ! get some length and weight numbers ... Now you need a male , pm me if u want as i know a guy who has some 100% nice male hogs that are 2012's due in august .

Ok i will weigh her and check her length , she is a little smaller than i expected but thats ok cause i wanted a baby so she will be just fine . Maybe she will start pounding rats instead of mice and put on some weight , not to much of course .. I really didnt understand why they fed her mice to begin with .. But hopefully she will swap with no problems ...

i hope so , mine was eating small rats for a full year , thats how she got so big and likley the guy who had her before overfed her . If she is lean and healthy then all good! The guy told me he had a hard time switching her to rats , and fed her mice for a while at first.

Well she weighs in at 280 grams and is 35'' long .. I am amazed at how docile she is , she just wraps around my hand and lays her head down on my arm and watches tv ..lol

yep same with this male , he will sit in my palm and just chill and actual seems to want to be handled. she did an amazing job of taming them down .
