Today I visited some family for the first time in a long time and got to see this cute little guy. I asked them what kind of turtle he was, and they had no idea, so I was hoping that someone here could identify what he is. :)
Doesn't really look like an African Spurred Tortoise, his legs are mostly smooth, not spiked like google images is showing me... I'm also not sure where they got him! I sent a message to my cousin who it technically belongs to, so hopefully we'll figure it out soon.
Until then, let's keep guessing and (hopefully) figure it out!
He is an eastern box turtle, looks like he could possibly be the gulf coast subspecies but I'm not sure. The substrate he's on is not a great idea, though.

Yeah, I kept pestering them about the substrate and the overall barren state of his enclosure. Hopefully things will change by the next time I visit, but the turtle was well-fed and well-cared for otherwise.
