My next reptile!!!
So I was really thinking about my next snake being a sand boa! Well I seen one at the reptile store and he says there 150 each. They don't get really big only 14 inches. I fell inlove with them! I could only get it next year but still I want to learn as much of them as possible! So can people fill me in what's there setup like?

Re: My next reptile!!!
Sand boas are awesome. I really hope it's a really cool morph for 150, though.

Re: My next reptile!!!
I still think 150 is a little to much. If you get it from a reptile show it will probably be cheaper.

Re: My next reptile!!!
Glad you are taking the time to learn about the next animal you are getting. I would say it would be better to get one from a reputable breeder though, Brady.
Thats the same pet store you said wasn't taking care of their animals, right? No need to give them any more of your money then!

Re: My next reptile!!!
No but I already told them about sav husbandry and they said yeah we know we're going to Add more dirt in there tanks. I said hmm they need a bigger enclosure, they said that there is no money in doing that, they usually don't keep savs for more than 4 weeks. But still the guy is super nice and is trying his best to get them spot on. I offered to help him so I don't know if by September he cleans up his act and gets his animals in proper conditions maybe I'll start doing business again

Re: My next reptile!!!
Fair enough, if he is willing to listen and do some things to improve the situation of the animals then that is worth rewarding as a patron. Glad to hear he is working on it, as most won't.

Re: My next reptile!!!
I've never had a sand boa but it seems their set-up is pretty simple. I would use a few inches of aspen substrate in their tank, and have a water dish. I think hide would be up to you, the ones I've seen all stay under their substrate. I seen one at the petstore today for 150 as well, maybe there's canadian places online that you can order from for cheaper.
