N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

Who is "definitely" going? Anyone? Anyone?........ Buehler....

Anyone have any hotell rooms lined up? Holiday took away the group rate 3 weeks ago. Instead of $199 it's. $139.

Who is going?

Re: N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

Ok, so maybe you can't make it. You CAN listen to Brian Barczyk's (BHB Reptiles) simulcast of Friday night's summit legislation. Speakers, who include:

- Mike Canning of PIJAC,
- Andrew Wyatt of USARK,
- Ben Siegel of BSR,
- Kevin McCurley of NERD,
- Mike Wilbanks of Constrictors Unlimited,
- Jeff Barringer of KINGSNAKE.COM,
- Bill Brant of Gourmet Rodent,
- Joan Galvin of USARK,
-Gary Bagnall of Zoo Med and USARK.

If you want the latest on the (you know what), this'd be the way to get it.

See you all there.... oooorr not.

Re: N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

sigh... I wish I could go, but in all honesty, if I was taking a trip this coming weekend, NARBC Tinley would be tied for second on the list, and the other second I would probably be coming home with a little Monster...

Yeah, that's a bummer. This is a great face to meet some SSNAKESs peeps.

I'm opening up the betting, I mean poll, on whether we come home with a BRB (due to my recent loss), or a BCC (since mine are related).

I'm not buying any rainbow whose parents I can't see, so that kinda narrows it down quite a bit I think.

Yessir! St.Charles, IL. It's less than half-hour from home. Oh yeah, we'll be there too.

Re: N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

Well, the Q&A session was a little nuts, but here's what I got out of it (and could not agree more). We need feet on the street! Get off your computers, outta your houses, and DO something to help our hobby! Get involved with Snake Awareness Day (Monday, May 14), take the day off work, go to your kid's school, teach those outside the hobby how great our hobby is, how incredible these animals are. Make these kids go home and say "Mom! That snake I saw in school today was SOOOOO COOL! Snakes aren't slimy, they're not mean, and some make great pets!"

That's the goal of Snake Awareness Day (Monday, May 14). Educate those outside the hobby just how cool our animals are. They're not scary, they're not slimy, and they're NOT satanic! They are amazing animals, and when provided the correct husbandry, most are great pets! (Is there an echo in here?)

Anyway, I'm gonna try really hard to get some good pics for you tomorrow. And if at first I don't succeed.....sorry!

Re: N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

B.T.W. The IL bill has been tabled for now. (HUGE WIN, I.M.H.O.), until summer. I told you we frazzled the author of the bill! For my fellow Illinois, we NEED, NEED, NEEED all of you to show to the next hearing!!! There's a ton of power in numbers! We need people on our side to show up to these hearings and show that we will not lie down and just let these stupid laws pass! We needn't numbers! Feet on the street! We need numbers to intimidate these PR*cks and show them we will not just stand around while these stupid bills pass! F that! We're better than that, stronger than that, and hopefully more determined than that.

Thank you.

Please don't take offense Wiz, but that's really the outlook we're trying to overcome. "If I have nothing better to do." "...depends on what else I've got going on." At some point, if you want to step up and save our hobby, preserve your right to keep the animals you love, you have to MAKE time, MAKE AN EFFORT! Get away from your computer, get out, put boots to the ground, educate others, and most importantly, STAND UP FOR WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU! Forums or "Gosh, I wish I could make it but....." does nothing to preserve our rights to keep these animals.

Ok, it's SHOW TIME!

Re: N.A.R.B.C. Tinley Park

Im talking about the NARBC show. That is what this thread is about anyway. I want to go and I will make every effort to go and have a good time. Please dont make me feel obligated and it has nothing to do with "if I have nothing better to do". I love these shows and they are a lot of fun.
