Opinions please!!
I am looking into purchasing a rainbow boa, or a nicaraguan boa, due to there smaller size. I heard mixed reviews about both.
Thanks! Michaela...

Re: Opinions please!!
You should go with whichever fits you best. You're the one who's going to be taking care of them for years to come, so it's entirely up to you which one you like best. Both are great options.
That aside, PLEASE post pics of your hogg island boa!!

Re: Opinions please!!
Rainbow boa's are a good first boa.. They stay slender in girth and are truly stunning animals to own. Mine is soft as a feather and has only struck out twice, no bites tho. If you can keep on top of the humidity then they're easy.. However they can be quite shy snakes and sometimes it's like owning an empty viv ..
Bci tend to be out and about a lot and you'll see abit more of them, however even a small bci will be a lot stronger than a rainbow boa (and the poo's are the size of a mans fist, which was a shock to me) I haven't dealt specifically with Nicaraguans so I'll let someone else jump in here... Good luck and make sure to post pics when you've got either one.

Re: Opinions please!!
I think you should get a carpet python
But out of the two you mentioned, I like both but I would go for the nic.

A BRB is the way to go IMO. Not only are they bright and pretty but theyre also pretty tame as well. Verrry handleable.

Re: Opinions please!!
Since you have a hog island why not get a longicuada?? I like our brb but not exactly thrilled about how big it could get even being a male but I'm sure I won't mind years from now.
I bet a hog/longtail boa mix would be sweet.

Re: Opinions please!!
Personally I'd go for the Rainbow Boa. There are a few varieties available which are quite a bit different from one another, so you at least have some options available within that family.
They're quite a bit different from a Boa constrictor X in that they're generally smaller all over, but they can attain some decent length over the years, and they're all boa in every aspect from behaviour to that fresh boa smell when you open their enclosure.
It's really a matter of which size best suits you and how much space you've got to dedicate to it.
