I know better than to keep checking CL...
...but I do it anyway...and now I have a bearded dragon. What? Your uncle bought it and then left and you dont want to take care of it? SURE Ill take it off your hands for nothing! You want to give me the tank as well? And the wood? SURE! Its hard to say no to your addiction when people are willing to feed it for free
Anyway without further ado, here is Xerxes!
Ive got him (I hope its a him or Im going to have to rename it) in a 30 gallon tank for now. Ill get it in a bigger tank right away (been eyeing up that 55 gallon on CL too). He has a ReptiSun 5, a basking lamp, washed playsand substrate, a few different logs and a water dish. I know they generally dont drink from a water dish, but I figured I would try it first and then remove it later if he is one of the ones that doesnt. Hides seem to be a point of contention in the caresheets Ive read, and since there are natural hides under the wood pieces I thought I would leave it out and give him more room to play. He is a very inquisitive little guy, not shy at all so far. He ate right away when I got him home; mowed down a big helping of dusted mealworms. I have shredded collard greens and green beans in there for him as well (loved the collards, not so much the beans). His basking spot is 102 F, the cool side of the tank is 80 and the warm side 91.
This is my first bearded and its very interesting to have an animal that seems to actually respond to being held. Ive tried to leave him so far so he has time to get used to his new home, but he will follow my every movement from his tank. I spent hours combing over caresheets, but if Im missing anything please let me know.

Re: I know better than to keep checking CL...
He looks a little young for sand to me. I used to use newspaper for mine but I just got reptile carpet and I love it. When I got mine the previous owners never interacted with him so he was VERY skittish but he's almost completely acclimated to me. Good luck with your new pet!
Here are two links I've found very helpful,
This one which shows you which foods are good and bad and tells you why.
And this caresheet. (That website in general is very helpful.)

Re: I know better than to keep checking CL...
Ya the sand thing I wasnt entirely sure about. It seems like he may be about 5 months old given his size, and on all the caresheets it seems like age is a determiner on whether or not that is ok. If you think that is too young for sand Ill switch him over to carpet. They have such delicate toes, it seems, so I was worried about them getting stuck on the carpet fibres.
Ya, I did read those caresheets Youngster, they were really helpful. The Beautiful Dragons one is good but also kind of funny. I had to laugh at the idea of alternative medicine applied to reptiles. In one of the posts it talks about giving Echinacea to one of the Beardeds! Not that Im saying it might not work, just made me giggle a bit.
As for the mealworms, Ill make sure to keep it to just a few at a time. Im breeding roaches now so Ill be switching to them soon.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: I know better than to keep checking CL...
as for the sand, my bearded has been on sand since I had him and he did fine the impaction was my fault it was a knee jerk response to him going off crickets all he wanted were worms and those were the only ones I could find

As long as the "grass" doesn't have loops on the end like the caresheet says carpet is fine.

Re: I know better than to keep checking CL...
I actually payed $50 for my beardie and the setup.
To be fair the husbandry was sub-par so when I got him I had to spend $60 more for supplies and such.

I keep telling myself the same thing. "Must not go on CL, must not get any more animals...must try not to breathe so much oxygen" Theyre all about the same thing!
