New Dumerils Boa
I went to the Columbus reptile show today and left with a new dumerils boa:

The pictures don't show her true colors, though. She has more of a red-orange color. I'll get more pics of her and her enclosure, which is a 40 gallon, but she has a lot of plants/places to hide. I will be building a bigger one once she starts to outgrow the one she is in.

Very nice! Dums are great. You will love this one as she gets bigger. I love the white around the dark patterns. Congratulations.

Nice pick up. I like the Dumeril's, most of them are very sweet.

Re: New Dumerils Boa
Great choice! Dumerils Boas are awesome snakes. A 40 gallon tank should be good for quite a while. Here is a Dumerils Boa Care Sheet. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them. Be sure to post some more pictures when you get a chance.

Re: New Dumerils Boa
Thanks everyone!
I have some pics of the enclosure, especially the lid because my dad made it out of plexiglass that he had laying around:

The lid has layers of plexiglass with aluminum screen underneath so there is a small gap between the plexiglass and the heat lamp so that some heat and humidity escapes. There is also a slot for a piece of plexiglass that can slide under the heat lamp if the cage gets too dry, if all that makes any sense
I will post better pics as soon as she settles in and i get my camera back because i had to take these with my ipod.

Re: New Dumerils Boa
Congrats! Dumeril's rule. My little one loves to burrow. Most the time all you see is his nose sticking out.
