oracle feeding response
my female dumerils is ALWAYS hungry and the last few days every timy i walk near her tank she is following my movement and looking at me like dinner lol. she was sitting with her face towards the front of the glass and i dropped a f/k rat in the middle of the tank and she smelled it and saw me move so she struck at the glass and just kept her mouth wide open kind of chewing on the glass for a second. then she closed her mouth and looked at me all bitter for a second. she finally smelled the rat and put her head under the log thing and struck around it and coiled the rat. it was kind of cool except for her chomping the glass like a dumb dumb. lol

Re: oracle feeding response
Maybe you should consider feeding her more? Or more often? If she always seems to be in "feed mode" that is. Though the tracking of movement could just be her being curious or her simple mind just needing to track movement. Its not a snake but I notice one of my leo girls doing this constantly when I am feeding her. Even after she is full she will still stalk and track the crickets...or my hand.

Re: oracle feeding response
i just fed her like MAYBE 5 days ago lol. she will eat a decent rat that gives her a good lump then she'll be totally hungry again like 3-4 days later, she's just a beast.
and she only stalks my movement and comes out of her hide with a weird jerky manner when she's hungry. she's in food stalking mode lol. some snakes will just want to eat every day if you give them the opportunity.

Re: oracle feeding response
Maybe bunches of smaller meals will curb that stalking LOL

Re: oracle feeding response
haha. i'd rather stick with a decent/big meal every 5-7 days till she gets bigger, seems like it's the best.

Oh I know I am just being silly/funny. Its to bad the only stimulus for snakes is food. They don't make "snake toys" to help with those that are energetic.

Sure they do just check out the bite club thread. They play with finger, faces, hands, and just about any body part that looks tasted. Plus i have a couple that like to play with their hide and water bowls and move them all around their cages. lol

Guess it is just my snake that doesn't like the toys I provide her from time to time. You would think "human pinky" would be a great toy!
