retic RI
wat is this disease or illness? i hear about it but cant find much information about it on google. i have read that it could be temp and humidity problems, but i am sure there is more to it. wouldnt that only cause respiratory problems and the snake would catch a "cold" if you will?

Re: retic RI
Wild guess here. I swear to nothing. Would "retic" be short for reticulated, and "RI" be short for respiratory infection?

I haven't had any RI's with retics if you maintain temp and humidity.
Regarding your first question, I'm assuming its an illness.

Re: retic RI
yeah, its similar to a cold, however since most (if not all snakes if im not mistaken) have only one lung, its extremely important to keep this lung happy, and if you have a RI or respiratory infection it can become very serious very quickly and is more than likely to be caused by poor husbandry.

Re: retic RI
lol no worries, RI's can be a pain to get rid of but are easily treatable if caught in time.

Re: retic RI
Rot of any kind can get messy if not treated right fast enough.

Re: retic RI
That's the great thing about retics, when they get larger they run out of places to hide for the most part. But they are always high energy and strong as an ox, when they get older they are still great climbers and ours used to climb regularly. Once they get older try to limit the number of branches on the trees they climb because there is no getting them out if their muscles are holding onto a few dozen branches:P

I'm assuming that he meant the snake found a way into the couch and couldn't be removed without harming the couch.
I've had it happen in the past and unless your couch is build to be taken apart there is no way the snake is coming out unless he either wants to or you damage the couch.

thats my way of punishing her. i really think its working too. lol jk. she just found her way into a really tiny hole when i was holding her on my couch. i waited for her to come out and put a heat lamp on by it so she would come out for heat but she never did. so i ripped the bottom of the couch out and then took her out.

yea i wanted her to come out on her own but she didnt so i had to tear the couch up but its one the bottom so nobody sees it anyway. it sucked because she found her way into the hole like just as i sat on the couch. i just wanted to watch some tv and hang with my snake lol.
