New Hoggie
So the breeder contacted me about my first hoggie and said she had a smaller hognose that she would be willing to trade for mine if she was not eating. Since she had not (even with frog scenting) I went ahead and traded and just got her this morning. She is a good bit darker and much skinnier, but is supposed to be a good eater, so we will see what happens next week. Gonna frog scent a small pinkie for her, feed her out of her home, and see what happens.
Pics will come later, probably tomorrow.

Re: New Hoggie
Good News and Update
Breeder called as she forgot to tell me that she didn't feed the snake she gave me this week (on mondays) and suggested before I put her in her new tank to attempt to feed. So I put her in an empty margarine tub with a single small f/t pinkie and after an hour in there (approx an hour) left alone, she ate it.
Not only that but I think she could have eaten a second small pink as she was all jerky and striky when I got her out. That is okay I like to see a snake, especially a little baby, with a strong feeding response. So now she is in her tank, and already buried herself in the substrate. Gonna leave her for a week and get pics before her next meal come next Tuesday.
So YAY I am so so so happy now!!

Re: New Hoggie
Tried picking her up today to get a picture but it seems that her attitude of being an aggressive feeder is an overall attitude LOL She flattened her head and hissed...not only that but she musked me pretty durn good. My hand took forever to smell right today. So because she isn't used to being handled I am gonna hold off on taking pics and work on just getting her used to being picked up and held. Don't want to stress her to much.
But honestly she is so small, the attitude front she puts up is just hilarious!

Re: New Hoggie
Another update
Fed her a larger pinky today and she ate it within about 30min and had a somewhat larger lump in her belly. Not to mention in a high feed mode still. So I will be trying one of my other larger pinkies and a small pinky next week and see if she is better after that. If I can feed her 5 times in a row with simple handling I will then get some images of her spunky little self.
Oh yes this hognose is VERY full of herself. Piss and vinegar so to speak.
ON ANOTHER NOTE::
It seems that the other hognose that would not eat for me did eat for my breeder. I think she was just a bit shy for my house. So at least she is going to be okay. Good news all the way around.
