Re: Snake Feeding

By offering it food everyday for a few days, you are causing it stress. Leave it alone for a week and then try offering it food then. You should also check to make sure the heat is sufficient.

Re: Snake Feeding

it's also the time of year they normally should be down in a snake den, so they will commonly not eat for longer periods in the fall/winter.

Re: Snake Feeding

Corn snakes can be odd with their food. I have a male who will eat everything you give him, if you put 5 mice in his cage they will be gone in a half hour lol

on the other hand I have a female who has very off and on feeding. sometimes she wants to eat every four days, sometimes she'll wait two weeks. my motto is if she doesnt eat, wait a week. It can get realy annoying when your snake wont eat and you have this extra mouse you then have to either let die, save it for later, or keep in your freezer. since i feed live i tend to keep the leftovers in a mouses' dream home filled with cookies, almonds, and a little box to poop in lol...not too fond of mice smell myself...

but yeah, here's a fun fact, a snake can live up to a year without eating(not saying that anyone should ever test this)...so waiting another week is not unhealthy for it. no worries. if anything she/he will just enjoy the meal more.
