Re: male/female close to eachother..

As long as they are in separate cages, you should be fine. Males are generally never aggressive towards females, but can go off feed and get restless in their cages when they smell a receptive female in the vicinity. Remember, snakes do not really go into "heat"- they do not ovulate until they've bred (they're like cats that way), except in very rare hormonal imbalance cases. Therefore, as long as they are in their own cages, things will be fine. If you put them together to breed, just remove the female once you're sure she's gravid (stops eating, looks thicker, you see an ovulation) and return her to her own cage.

Re: male/female close to eachother..

You can do it either way, but usually people put the male in the female's cage. Female snakes, like us human ladies, are usually pickier about the who/what/when/where aspects of the deed than the males. Males will breed anything, anywhere....
