Cage cleaning advice

I have 18 months old bearded dragon for 4 months now and I am pretty familiar with feeding, handling. I am just looking for your advice on cage cleaning. How often do you clean their cages? I searched online and googled this topic, but found nothing useful. So I thought to ask other bearded dragon owners before doing anything. What do you guys suggest? All your inputs are warmly welcome.

Thanks..

Re: Cage cleaning advice

We dont have beardies but with all our reptiles we spot clean immediately we notice soiling and then maybe three times a year completely empty the viv and replace all the substrate and wash all the hides etc. The only exception being water bowls that we wash once a week or so.

Re: Cage cleaning advice

Spot clean straight away, and I am festidious about my enclosures so here's what I do once a fourth night when I do ALL the enclosures.

Take out the specimen/s place in strerile tubs
Take out all furnishing and decor, feed bowls
Spray decor with vetrinary grade cleaner
Take out all substrate
Spray entire enclosure with cleaner leave for 15 mins
Wipe/scrub clean
Replace substrate with fresh clean materials
Place back clean strerelised decor
Place back specimens

The whole process takes about 3 hours a forthnight with all the enclosures I have
