Re: Our new retics
We have been looking at a tiger retic in our local shop - what sort of size are you looking at when fully grown?

Re: Our new retics
is it a minland? females can get about 17ft and males about 14ft there are few that got to 26ft, if you want a smaller retic go with a dwarf or super dwarf.
Isis mom is only 14ft full grown

Re: Our new retics
Are they nippy? I have heard that retics are prone to biting. I was in the local reptile store one day when a guy brought in a super dwarf and he and the shop keeper were exchanging stories of people they knew that had been bitten by their retics.

Re: Our new retics
no retics are very smart,so maybe they mishandled them and payed the price for it or somthing like that, my dwarf retic is a little kitten, so calm and cool and really seems to enjoy being handled. i never heard of anyone having problems with retics biting out of anger, although their feeding responce is crazy to say the least, mayber that when your friend were getting tagged all the time, i could see that happening for sure :P

Re: Our new retics
@Freebody Interesting. I like the large breeds, but I'm afraid the biggest I'll go is with my rtb. What do you feed a 14' snake? I have heard stories of people getting animals that are about to be euthanized from shelters. Don't know if they are true. I know of a company here in MN. called monster feeders that goes around to hog farms and buys freezers full of baby pigs to re sell. Curious as to what a monthly food bill is for a full grown retic, or even a full grown dwarf.

Re: Our new retics
if you handle you retics alot they will not be bitty and hook training it a good idea...Isis has a crazy feeding responce i mean she will be half way out of the cage to get her rat lol, but when i touch her with the hook she knows its play time and not feeding time.
Yes retics are really smart, everytime i go in my room she will be by the door watching want im doing and see if i have food.
when my snakes get that big they will be on big bunnys, i will not feed pigs, they have too much fat and have no hair i dont want to clean up that poop lol...
retics are long and slim not big body like burms
