Giant Malagasy Hognose
I`ve finally managed to locate a Giant Malagasy Hognose ! I should have it inside of a week or two My wife has actually offered to drive six hundred miles to get him for me ! How cool is that?! I wanted a female ideally but I`ll take the male, I`m just happy to have found one after all this time So I thought I`d ask if there`s anyone here who also has one of these snakes. I see there`s another thread asking the same question from a while ago with no answers lol but it doesn`t hurt to ask ! Does anybody here own a Giant Malagasy Hognose?
Photos to follow once i`ve got him of course

Re: Giant Malagasy Hognose
Oh I`m so chuffed to have found one I really wanted a baby because I like to see my snakes develop, it`s part of the enjoyment for me. The shops I had looking for me both said ooooh you won`t find babies, nobody breeds them really, they`re quite rare. Thanks to the wonders of the internet I not only found one, but three ! Three babies too, they`re 09`s so I get my wish, I can see him grow. It`s great looking at some of my snakes and then looking at a picture of when they were babies, I can hardly imagine them ever being so small! lol

It's a gratifying experience isn't it.

Re: Giant Malagasy Hognose
Here we go ! He arrived about an hour ago, my wife drove eight hundred miles to get him for me ;D I still haven`t thought of a name, I was hoping for something Malagasy but I need to do a little more looking for a place name or famous Malagsy person or something

I thought he had an injury at first, nose rub maybe, but on closer inspection it seems to be a bit of skin. Either way, it doesn`t look like a problem to me.

I put him in his new home and expected that to be the last I se of him for a month ! lol But he`s exploring his enclosure and doesn`t seem especially shy or anything. I`ve provided an "hill" of deep enough substrate for burrowing as I do with my Westerns. A plastic tube going through that hill and various things to hide in and under. I`m really pleased with him, I wonder what the growth rate is like? I couldn`t find any information on that. I`ve seen an adult male though that was a good six foot and really chunky so he`s going to be a big lad one day, he`s about fifteen inches at the moment, a proper little baby which was the best case scenario for me

Re: Giant Malagasy Hognose
Oh of course, I meant nothing by that, I was just describing him that`s all lol Honest ! I love Canadians ! well.... Not Brian Adams.... or Celine Dion...... or Pamela Anderson..... or Alanis Morissette lol hahahahaa But in general, Canadians are cool. Seriously though, I meant nothing by that, there`s only one whole country I don`t care for, and that`s France ! lol
I`m a balanced Feebs, it`s only fair that I should list Canadian people I DO like. Like Rick Moranis, the exellent Dan Akroyd (Who has made and starred in some great films) The Crash test Dummies, Sandra Bullock, well... more Sandra Bullocks arse really but worth a mention lol Neve Cambell (See Sandra Bullock) John Candy, Jim Carrey and Micheal J. Fox Canada is one of the few countries in this world I would happily go and live, providing I was allowed to roam the place armed to the teeth and fully ready for bear encounters Not that that`s going to happen any time soon, I once asked Canada if they would like the pleasure of my company, I was turned down because I didn`t have enough money lol But that was a poor unprepared and very young Feebo. Ok I`m wittering now, lol I`ll shut up lol
Here`s a link to a site listing people you may not realise are Canadian, although my wife is disputing at least one of them....
