Substrate

Everyone suggests paper towels and newspaper.

BOOM!

$5-9 bath towels. Two for each enclosure. One active and one in reserve. Poop, urate, pull it out, replace with a soaked-then-rung-out laundered replacement.

Even in my white lip's enclosure, they are capable of maintaining 70% humidity.

Just get the nice bath towels, don't skimp.

Re: Substrate

The problem with towels I fear is teeth getting caught and the whole substrate going down with the meal. Also along with the repticarpet its too much hassle having to wash everything and I question about how clean they actually get (especially with boid urates melding into the threads); then you end up dealing with the stinking issue too. I also have a thing with dirty snake poopy things in the washer, but thats probably just me.

I think the main idea behind newspaper and paper towels is the roll up and throw awayability.
