Question hissing

Sometimes my male albino burmese python hisses when I attempt to remove him from his tank. It is not before he sheads or after a meal. Any suggestions? :2yellow: :2yellow: :2yellow: :2yellow: :2yellow: :2yellow: :

Burms often do that, and it is often a bluff as most of the time they'd simply rather be left alone than be handled. You'll need to learn to tell with your snake when it's actually safe to handle him/her.

Agreed, most snakes hiss as a defensive measure, especially baby burms.
Don't pay attention to the hissing, and handle him as normal, once he realizes your no longer a threat, the hissing will stop.

My experience with burms and afrocks is that they're big complainers. They hiss alot and loudly. I don't really worry about it. For signs of aggression with these 2 species, I watch their body language.

The main question here is how old is your burm? When I got mine they were both hissers and a little nippy, but after leaving them alone except for feeding and cleaning they became accustomed to their new homes and now they never hiss or show any signs of aggression. I handle them every day except when in shed mode and they seem to enjoy the interaction.
