Ball Python Burn, Question...

I recently bought a 0.1 ball python off a guy 2 hours out of town. He told me prior to picking her up that she has a small scar from a burn, from the owner before him.. who had not watched the temperatures. Anyways, I decided to buy the 700 gram girl as she was awsome looking, and has a great temperment. I fed her a medium rat 2 days after getting her, and like he said, she loves to eat.

My question is, if I decide to breed her.. would it be a bad choice since she has a burn. Im thinking that it is not a big deal, but I would prefer some professional advice. Shes in great shape otherwise, I can take a pic of her belly if needed. Thanks....

Not sure what your question is. I don't think a scar from a burn is going to affect any future breeding. Not sure how that would be even possible. Only problem that could arise is if the burn is not fully healed or anything and the belly gets infected, then you try to cool her for winter cycling, etc etc.

But yeah, a burn on the skin? Just like people, pretty hard to affect most things, once its healed properly, which you have 6 months to do anyways before the next breeding season.

Perfect, just the answer I expected and wanted. She is all healed up, and its a small scar which I belive she will grow out of, and hide it more. I figured it wasn't a big deal, but wanted to hear others opinions, thanks Jeff.

She may not be big enough to breed this year... depends on how good she eats

I had one girl with a burn from a previous owner... I thought it was healed. She had several good sheds without the scar opening. I got her in January and bred her the next fall.
But when she ovulated the scar split open a little. It worried me but did not seem to bother her. She laid 6 good eggs and healed fine after that. She has laid 3 years now and is great... still has the scar.
