If memory serves me, I saw a show with that Zoltan guy catching gabby's.. one brief scene showed him using a 1.5-2 Litre drinking bottle as a tube to restrain the snakes head. the snake was HUGE.

That one is a good size but it is not as big as it looks.... He is holding it away from him towards the camera..... Plus that is an east African gaboon and they only reach lengths of 4 feet..... Mine is bigger.... Take a look...

Gregg's right about the photo, the gaboon is big, but the lack of depth perception in a two-dimensional image makes the snake look much larger than it really is.
Gregg, great pics as always my friend...you need some new ones though! Some puff pics please...

i saw that show where the pic was taken on NGE and he said the snake was 7' long and weighted 23lbs..but idontknow thats seems a little much even for a gaboon??

That would be large for a W.A. gaboon (B. g. rhinoceros), much less an E.A. E.A.'s top off around 4 ft. or so...in captivity they can get bigger, obviously.
