Sciensational Sssnakes!! Reptile educator/ keeper
16 weeks, 40 hours/ week, $7.50/ hour, start mid-May
10 week positions, starting in June, may also be available
Location: Orillia, with extensive travel throughout Ontario and possibly eastern Canada
-perform educational programs about native and exotic reptiles throughout Ontario
-assist with maintenance of captive collection of native and exotic reptiles
-assist with the development of a reptile education facility
Strong oral communications skills required. Position requires speaking to crowds, answering questions, and supervising the handling of animals. Postive attitude and willingness to help people get over their fears are essential. All aspects of reptile husbandry will be routine. Valid Class G driver’s license required. Fluency in French is an asset. Accommodation may be available. Funding approval for these positions is still pending. To be eligible for funding, you must be a Canadian citizen and have been in school fulltime this year.
