Good Shed

Anoushka had her first complete shed since I've owned her. Came off in -one- huge piece. I owe it to the new substrate that I mixed up a few months ago. Woot!

Which iiisss..... ? LOL

Congrats on the complete shed! How long have you had her, and what was she on before? Adult, I'm assuming, since you mentioned it's been a few months since the new substrate...

I've had her for a few years, and I usually keep her on newspapers for ease of cleaning and safety. I used the concoction in the book -the art of snake keeping- by vosjoli. I guess its pretty hard to keep the humidity up here in LA when there isnt any depth to the substrate to keep moisture in. Next time I mix it, I'm going to use a little less clay, and a little more peat moss. I guess its the kind of thing you have to work at to get the right consistency. I don't like the way the clay makes the substrate clump when I water it. I posted a pic of it when I fist made it on the enclosures forum...
