Today I looked at a young hog island boa to purchase. I have reservations because her mouth was slightly open.(like her lips were separated like MBD but she wouldn't have that) Does anyone know anything about this. I asked about it and owner didn't know but said it is not always like that. thinks it may be substrate since she digs and he has removed substrate from her mouth. I think it may be from too big food, rat pups are much bigger than her, could she have dislocated her jaw.
Thanks
I wonder if it could be unshed skin on the lower jaw. My ETB had the same condition, I gave her a bath in warm water and slowly peeled the old shed off her lower jaw, she hissed a bit, but I think she appreciated it because her mouth closes normally now.
