What's legal

Hey

My friend has opened a pet store and was wondering what kind of spiders hes not aloud to sell in ontario. His internet broke so he got me to help him out. Anything will help thanks.

not sure what ontario provincial regs are but i think your allowed anything. in bc your even allowed native species. i would assume its teh same throughout, but would defiantly call a university or museum (or *attempt* to get an answer from the gov) for confirmation.

it depends on where it is.. is king township you cant own any so i guess selling would be out of the question.. you must look at local bylaws to see what you are aloud to own.. from there i guess you have to ask what you can sell

As already stated, he's allowed anything by Ontario law but will need to check his local bylaws. Where is he located?

Incidentally, while he can sell any spider, millipedes, cockroaches etc. are forbidden under Canada law.

yea arachnids are prohibited by by law in ontario... there might be more details to that i might not be entirely right, id like to hear about this from someone who knows tho...

There are no provincial or federal laws prohibiting arachnids.

Crocodylia (such as alligators, crocodiles, gavials)
All snakes which reach an adult length larger than 3 metres
All lizards which reach an adult length larger than 2 metres

OTHER
All venomous and poisonous animals

there are no provencial or federal laws that dont allow arachnids.. but you have to check with your township..

Sorry to bring this up again. O.k. he now has a pink toed tarantula, and a rose hair tarantula. All this bylaw is confusing me. So are those allowed?
