Ieaks

Jeff or Matt. if you have a better forum for this please move it. I was running late this morning and this is the only forum locked in my favorites as it is my starting point for ssnakess.

Thanks
Scott

For several months many Websites have been working together to create a forum for keepers of Exotic Animals. Many of you have heard rumors of this and been curious what it’s about.

The International Exotic Animals Keepers Association is the name of the Group that has been formed. http://ieaka.com/forums/index.php?si...3d8f078d0854c8

The goal is to provide a web based forum and local chapters through out the world to help share knowledge on captive care and husbandry of exotic animals and to help fight by informed knowledge from the sciences to the keepers themselves of these animals in fighting against laws created based on fear or unfounded facts by any group or groups of persons/special interest to restrict the keeping of the animals.

Where lawmakers are writing or contemplating enacting such laws it is our goal to work with them and provide true and accurate information to better serve the truth, and our abilities to keep these animals. We are not against Laws to protect these animals or the general public and recognize that Laws and regulations are needed to insure the health, well being and safety of not only the animals but the keepers and general public. With this in mind we will work with the lawmakers to help write laws that will be sensible and accurate and not to detract from our ability to keep these animals.

We also wish to work on conservation practices for wild population to captive breeding for reintroduction of depleted species as this will insure both a captive base and wild base. By captive breeding we can help insure fewer animals are removed from the wild and also help replenish species of special concern or threatened nature.

It is the responsibility of any keeper of any animal to insure its health and well being both in its natural setting and captive care. We believe that by working toward these goals we will insure not only our rights to keep these animals but insure that they do not vanish from the wild.

The site is still being worked on but many more features are to come
Thank you all.
