Seems to be such a stable pet

I was just thinking about how in this forum (Morelia viridis), it is so rare that problems are discussed. We are more often than not, sharing pictures of these beautiful animals, and discussing success stories in breeding. This is a great thing, and i'm glad to see so many people sucessful with chondros in canada.

Wouldn't you agree that with the odd incidence of shedding problems, people experiences with chondros seems to be one without problems or issues on this site?

Good point!

It is interesting too. I guess it's an argument FOR the fact that when people pay more money for an animal, it's more likely they'll take better care of it and research/meet its needs.

I'd attribute the lack of problems with Canadian Chondro owners with less wild caughts being passed around.

Most canadians who post here (all in fact it seems) have bought smart, bought CBB only. These snakes DO have relatively no problems and are easy to care for.

In the states, and on US forums you see TONS of issues because WC are are available there, and bought more often by inexperienced people.

There are tons of wc Chondro here too. I just think that people don't post when their snake doesn't shed properly. If you treated your snake and maintain the right humidity when he is in shed, you shouln't have problems with shedding.

Siretsap,

The issue of shedding has come up before...but I personally have never seen anyone post on a chondro regurgitating, and rarely being problem feeders (with the exception of a few neonates).

That and you wouldn't notice if they were dead until they started to smell. Get it cause they don't move........sorry had to. That's for Jeff. It's good to see any herp being captive breed it really helps out the species and the reptile community. I hope that more species become captive breed (not just expensive ones).

I am pretty sure, there are some out there. I know some people who bought many wc and didn't have many problems once the snakes were treated and acclimated.

I suppose chondro's might be a snake that acclimates quite well in captivity.

Speaking of WCs or Farmed, has anyone heard of what became of that 100 lot of chondros that were up for sale on the classifieds last month?

Thanks too funny. Sometimes I give mine a little nudge to see if she's still kicking
