Is that a problem?

My dog was a constant runner. WE have 3 children in the house...doors open and closing.

He has been shocked 3 times, during training. Yet to be shocked since..

Thanks,

B.U.

Just curious.

And I was asking if you think it is, not trying to be rude, or mean, or anything. Just wondering.

Its either a shock or him running around and possibly getting hit by a car.

Nice dog. I dont think theres anything wrong with a shock collar. If it keeps your pets safe. 1 of my boxers weears one.

It depends; I should have been more specific as to the type when I asked if it was a shock-collar. I think most people only have a problem with them when they are used as the "bark-activated" type. Dogs bark, if barking bothers someone then they shouldn't get a dog. I find that a product that automatically shocks the animal when it tries to vocalize to be morally reprehensible. That said, the remote activated ones that are used for training seem to be somewhat advantageous, as people mainly use those ones in the best interest of the dog.
I once tried one of the "bark-activated" ones on myself, and then did my best fido impression... needless to say, therein lies the source of my "morally reprehensible" opinion.
By your description, I understand that you use yours as a training device that is in the interest of the dog's safety, and I can appreciate that.
Cheers,
Ryan

I also agree. What we have is one of those invisible fence. The one that wears the collar loves to take of ant chance she gets.
