Even though I like to think of myself as Queen of the White I do have some colourful snakes in my collection.

Here is April, a regular old amel, produced by Crimsonking. Not sure if she's het anything, but I keep her for sentimental reasons. She is the most easy to photograph snake I own.

I realy like this picture. Something about the angle. The snake looks right, but the earth and sky are mixed up.

And this is Seth. If I was in a burning house and I could save only one snake. This would be it. The first snake that we ever hatched out. Named after the first snake I owned, who died a few months before this guy hatched.

Just a normal het stripe poss het anery. I can't get the colour right in these pics.

Nice corns - I love the variety that there is among amels and normals. Seth is quite interesting with the number of white scales he has around and inside his saddles -

<laugh> Thanks Jon, but in all honesty, I suck bad at taking pics. Vanan is much better than me.

Plus it's easy to take pics when the snake doesn't move!

Katt, the amel you got from me was produced by breeding a snow X amel het/anery (snow).

Awesome Mark! Now I know!! I plan on putting her to an amel stripe when she is of age. She's getting big. I do so love her.!

Yeah, I had no idea really at first, but when I bred the snow to the amel, I got half snow and half amel babies--so I just assumed the amel was a het/anery. Right??
Funny thing is-- I have an exact reverse couple (sex-wise) and didn't know, but I got the same results! I'll breed the amels together next year and see for sure what I have.
Why did I not get anerys from either couple??

Right on the amel being het anery - only way you would have gotten snow babies from that breeding.

You didn't get any that looked anery because all were homozygous amel (from both the snow and the amel parents) - so those that were homozygous anery showed up as snows - they all had homo amel as well as homo anery. To see anery as the typical form, they would have to not be homozygous for amel - need the normal gene at that site to give you the melanin.

Really is a pretty amel - Mark - can you post pics of the parents?
