Poor spider... if I was the teacher (and if I managed to catch it), it'd be the class pet for sure!!! I hope it escaped certain death... =)

LoL Rebecca I used to keep a massive female Puerto Rican 'Jumping' Spider... they're just like the little tiny ones that hop around (not sure what they're called), but on a MUCH bigger scale! I've heard they can jump over 10 feet and have a powerful venom. (Thank God I was never bitten handling her). I let her go back where I caught her after keeping her a year in captivity. She was awesome!

OMG you dont know what being scared of spiders is untill you meet me LOL!!
No words can explain my fear of spiders but I can give you an idea of how scared I am when it comes to seeing spiders in my house. Even the littlest spider I see I run and scream like a girl haha. After I see a spider in my room I sleep with shorts wraped tight around my legs so no spiders can get in along with being tangled up in my blanket really tight like im in a cocoon LOL.

I don't mind spiders that much, but I couldn't have one as a pet. Scorpions, now, those I don't run from. I step on them. And good riddance.

What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Those morons are willing to FUMIGATE the school over it???????
So by their logic, exposing the kids to CANCER causing chemicals is more desirable then having a loose spider in the school????
What is the world coming to. I guarantee that the spider would be squished LONG before it had a chance to bite somebody anyway... and the risk from the bite sounds no worse than a bee sting anyway.
Ugh, people's contempt for nature and reliance on ridiculous poisons sickens me.
I should let these people come into my frog room and see the booming spider population in there.
Hmm... spider bites or cancer.... spider bites or cancer.... spider bites NOW (or never) or cancer LATER.......
fumigation.... morons

As for me, i would have caught the spider and put it in a super african terrarium with tons of crickets... I would also have bought a Poecilotheria Regalis, a Teraphosa Leblondi, a Lasiodora Parahibana and a Brachipelma Smitii... just to start a little tarantula collection... At the moment, i'm not aloud to have any of these, so i keep dreaming, hehe!

LOL, you guys are too funny! My only thing is... I can't see them dead... I don't know why, but I FREEZE when I see a dead spider all curled up ... :::shivers::: It's creepy. Hand me a live one and I'll play with it 'til the cows come home... but a dead one... freaks me out! LOL

Double J,
I agree with you completely. People are stupid and over react.
