Multiple mating partners...(NO not me, my BP)

Hi there,

I was told when I mate my het albino male to the five 50% poss het female BPs that after a month I should remove him and place a pastel male with the female.

The rational is that if the het albino does not take with a couple females then I can at least have a chance of producing some pastels as this is a dominate trait.

My question about this is about the possblity that the clutches produced in this way...could a clutch have more than one sire?

If a female dog (b-tch) mates with several males, she can have a litter were the pups can have different sires. is this also possible with BPs?

This concerns me because it messes up the percentage possiblities in the normals produced.

thanks.

....

In other words, does the female utilize different sperm for the same ovulation? Hmmmm...probably. I wouldn't chance it. I know Ralph Davis says that's what he does on his site, but I wouldn't do it personally.

I agree with Jeff, I know the same applys for rats and mice. But I think I prefer to know who the sire is.
