bp has dead scales in groups from 1-6

Hi, I have no idea why my bp has dead scales in groups from 1-6 and im wondering how they died, I have a heat lamp and a under tank heater on him and i turned off the heat lamp cause im thinking that hes getting dry scales but he has a tub to lay in if he wants too so i dont know. He is 9 months old and is about 2 ft long and is fed 2 adult mice every week.

If you guys can help me it would be VERY much appreciated

Chris- Jeff is right, and if you have a digi cam, snap a couple of pics and post them so we can see. If you don't have one, I know not everyone does, answer these questions so we can help you better.
1. Are they on the snakes underbelly (ventral side) which is white on most BPs, or are they on the snakes top (dorsal side) which is the part that is colored and has the markings.
2. What is your experience level? Are you new to snake keeping and how long have you had your BP?
3. Describe what you are calling "dead scales," why do you say they are dead? Some BPS do have white patches of scales, sometimes called ringers, which occur naturally. It also could be several layers of stuck on shed. We need a detailed description of what you are seeing.
4. What are your temps, and your humidity level?

If you can answer these questions, or even some of them, please do and we may be able to help you better.

And if pics are possible, that is the best way

First, they are on the dorsal scales or the top scales

Second, I am kinda beginner (8months of owning a snake and 6 yrs of owning reptiles)

Third, I call them dead cause they are not the color of the scale they are supposed to be and I am sure they are not from other sheds as I have always giving my snake a bath near to the time he was gonna shed

Fourth, 90-95 on hot and 80-85 on cold

Fifth, there is a constant humidity of 60% I will take a picture in the morning as I will edit for it to look better and to see clearly.

Temps and humidity is good. Keep up that good work and your snake should be able to work through most problems without further intervention by you. But yeah, pictures will help a ton.

Resize 'em in any picture editing program or MS Paint er something. Or you could crop 'em down.....also, save as a .jpg file if they aren't already.

I actually use Jasc Paint Shop pro and i did both and still too big. As I looked at the scales they are wrinkled and grey. Dumb re-sizing isnt working so I will have to work with what I got

without pics theres no way to tell for sure but i know i have a male that gets a few almost white colored scales at the same time every year for a few months. sounds like what you described. hes already got a couple this year. it usually starts before the dreaded fast. but yeah it sounds alot like that could be the "problem" but as i understand its normal and not even a problem. maybe try to get some pics up and im sure some of these people will be able to pinpoint exactly what it is. good luck with it.
