First rattlesnake picture with new camera
Found the snake last evening on a drive. I experimented with some of the pictures before my batteries ran of juice (I invented a swear word) - but the first picture shows the snakes toungue out - so I will post that.
It was dusk, so on this picture I used the flash to fill in the shadows. Makes it look like this snake is in an enclosure, but it is actually on the side of a road under some bushes.

Thanks guys.
Stewart, I got the fugifilm finepix s5000 - an "slr type" camera. I'm still learning, but so far I am very happy with it.

Close enough that I had my hands hiding behind the camera, haha. I'm not sure, I'd guess around 3 feet away.
