Can CGD be used as a supplement....

I don't want to feed just the CGD as directed on the bottle. I'd like to feed fruit baby food and fresh fruit, but was wondering if I could use the CGD as a supplement (instead of getting a separate calcium and multivitamin supplement) for these meals. If so, what measurements should I use? I will also feed dusted and gutloaded crickets.

Also, I'd appreciate any recommendations of breeders of cresties. I've tried searching on the Internet, but most of the hits I get are for caresheets. I did find Sandfire Dragon Ranch.

I've heard of people feeding nothing but CGD to their herps and having no problems, so I don't think you should have any either. CGD contains vitamin D3 as well as calcium and I think it's fine if you just mix some in with the babyfood.

My adults can easily eat a tablespoon each of the CGD (each). I'd recommend getting about 1/2 a tablespoon of CDG and enough babyfood to make up the 'liquid' portion instead of water.

Otherwise just stir CDG into the amount of babyfood you'd normally feed until it thickens up.

You can definitely do that. Like Heather, I mix the diet into the babyfood for my Cresteds. Actually, I mix a lot of the diet into their baby food, so it's super thick. I then add just enough water to make it a little more runny, so that it doesn't just dry up over night. I also feed mine Crickets 2-3 times per week.

I consider the diet an important part of their diet, but I haven't had any luck convincing the Cresties to eat enough of it to where I feel comfortable using it as their entire diet.

I breed Cresteds and my website is full of info about caging, feeding, etc.
