OK MY 14 INCH LONG CAL KING HAS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH IT. I WENT TO CHECK ON HIM AND HE WAS UNDER THE PAPER TOWELS. HE WOULD BREATHE AND LIKE ALL OF HIS MUSCLES WOULD TIGHTEN AND IT WOULD MAKE A SPITTING NOISE KIND OF LIKE A HUMAN HICK UP. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM...PLEASE REPLY FAST. I HAVE NO WAY OF GETTING TO AN EXOTICS VET RIGHT NOW WHAT CAN I DO??? PLEASE HELP

Are you positive the snake is not hissing?

Sometimes my kings can make a "huffy" hiss, and when they do, all their muscles are used to produce it. Almost sounds like a cough.

Does your snake have any fluid or discharge from the mouth or nose? Is it feeding? What temps?

NO therei sno discharge i see but around his head he hasnt shed but on his body the skin has been gone

are you saying that the skin on his body has shed, but the skin on his head hasn't? If that is so then you should probably up the humidity. I'm sure others has ideas on how to get the shed off of a snakes head.

otherwise it sounds like he is just hissing.

When my w.hognose hisses it souns like someone slashed a tire he is so loud.

Could be something as simple as a bad shed & an attitude to go along with it. Unfortunately with the info provided (or lack of) people can't even make an educated guess. Reply to post with all husbandry aspects ie: hot & cold temps, cage description, hides, humidity etc. Sometimes when kept too hot or dry snakes will develop respitory problems also. Could be too dry thus the bad shed you also describe. I humid hide could cure the problems? Until more info is given people won't be able to be very helpful though. Provide more info & you will get more replies that are not just guesses. Good Luck Mark

I agree huge with Mark. Without more info no one here can really tell you for sure. Even with all the info its never going to be 100%

I also think it could be attitude going along with a bad shed, but then again we can't say without details details details!

Like stated give us cage type, hot and cool temps, age of snake, feeding habits, etc. And maybe we can help you more.
