It is recamended 4-6 square' of floor space and I read your pos in other lizards and if your dad could go a little bigger like 4X4 or 6X2 than you could get a trio.

Well how about a pair. If I can build another 4x2 then that would be good....I'd rather not fill up my room with a 6x2.

I am going to have a 2nd level as well

Are you buying adults?

If not, then 1 cage is not sufficient for a pair or trio, as opposite sexes should NOT be housed together untill 18months old minimum.

cool, that works.

I'd only put a pair in the tank you are talking of.

If your cage is going to have more than one story and both will be heated and have their own uv bulbs then you could put a trio in there, but that would bring the cage up to a 4x2x4 or 5. If you were only doing it one level 4x2x2 then a pair would be better, even though myself, I don't recoment putting beardies in pairs because the female can get easily stressed in breeding season if she is the only female in the tank. I usually house my guys in 1.2 or 1.3 groups. This way the females are less stressed but you need at least a 6x2x2 for that. Good luck.
