Question Question

Can anyone tell me what a regurgitated pinkie looks like? This morning I found something that looked long thin pinkish and rubbery. I'm thinking it is but I want to be sure. Thanks

Does it stink? They say you will know it's a regurge because it will smell really, really bad.

It smells really bad if it was regurged some time after being eaten. However a regurg that has occurred within the first few hours of being eaten doesn't smell much at all. If it doesn't look like fecal matter then chances are it is a regurg. How long since he/she ate? Was there a bulge in the snake that has disappeared? If it is a regurg, don't feed for 2 weeks, but make sure the snake has access to fresh water as it causes dehydration, just like vomiting does in people.

Yes it smelled really bad, It appeared 2 days after being fed. Yes the lump has disappeared. Yes the snake always has fresh water as i change it daily. What would cause it to regurg? The temps are 80-85 warm end 70-75 cool end. Humidity fluctuates between 50%-60%. I don't bother it too often. It doesn't act strangely. Am I doing something wrong?

They will regurg if the food item is too big. Your temps sound good but is it possible there was a power failure that the temps really dropped for awhile or something? (don't know if that would cause a regurg, but its a possiblity I guess). If it turns out to be a "one off", I wouldn't worry too much, but if the next meal (after the two week hiatus) is also regurgitated, you might want to consider a trip to the vet as it may indicate a more serious problem.

I'll wait a 2 weeks or so and see what happens. Thank you.
