re water dragon lip

iv flushed my dragons lips twice with 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water. He hasn't eatin in about a week. He seems to be doing much worse. I can't really tell if his lip is geting better or staying the same, but it doesn't look worse. Today i came in the room and he had his front half over top of the water and a long mucus string hanging out of his mouth, he then opend his mouth and left it open. i got a rag and opend the cage, he closed his mouth and i wiped away the mucus. I have no idea why he is sick, what else can i do?

What did you use to wash the wound? Use a q-tip to clean it, don't pour the solution directly on it's mouth. I use original lysterin to clean the wound, it's not as bad if they ingest some and cleans very well. Then I put some polysporin on the wound.

i was using a q-tip for about a week, once a day put hydrogen peroxide on it and dabbed it on his lip. and a little bit ago i went back in the room, he had his nose down in the water, not drinking, i pulled his head away and another long string of mucus was hanging out of his mouth. what is the mucus from?

he doesn't look like hes having any problems breathing. he doesn't breathe heavy or open his mouth to breath, he did open his mouth once like i said but he wasn't gasping for air.

Sounds like you need to take him to the vet. I realize it's hard somtime and expencive but I think you should.

sounds like he developed an RI

when flushing his mouth if he swallows it happens.. You need to take him to the vet, or find someone that knows how to formulate baytril or a form of antibiotic. I dont recommend doing it unless you know exactly what you're doing.. Hope that helped.
