Good kenyan boa caresheet?

Hi, I'm interested in kenyans, and I was wondering where a good care sheet would be available? I am a beginner snake keeper, and if there are any reasons why I shouldn't start with this snake, please explain! thx...

Kenyans are great snakes to start with, as long as you get one that is feeding well already. Sometimes they can be a bit of a trick to start.

This is a good page full of info, but remember to copy the link in to your browser and remove the . from kingsnake

As Linds said, there is no reason whatsoever not to start with a Kenyan. They are incredible snakes to own, and are even easier than corns with their maintenance.

The link Linds provided above is one of the best out there. Please pay specific attention to the substrate debate. While I feel that most people are way overly paranoid about using sand as a substrate for creatures that dwell above-ground, a creature that will burrow should not be housed on even the most sterile sand, for a couple of reasons. They will ingest it, causing impactions and respiratory problems, it traps heat creating dangerous hot spots, and has no air flow at all. DO NOT use sand. I have 4 kenyans on shredded aspen, and they are perfectly happy with it.

There are lots of people here who keep kenyans and know all the tricks of the trade when problems do arise, so feel free to ask ANY questions you have that the care sheet doesn't cover. We love it when people ask instead of assuming.
