possible start of a resp..

Hey guys.. while holding my 3' burm today, i noticed that she was making whistling noise when she breathed. She isn't due to shed for another 2 weeks (1 month shed cycle).

now, is this the start of a resp? if so, what can i do to nip it in the bud?

her enclosure is a large rubbermaid bin, ~90 degrees on the hot side, cooler then that on the far side.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks

Jessy and Justin

I know for corns you have to increase the temps but i am not sure about burms! i'd half to say increase the temp a bit! I aint no expert on how burm tempertures shoud be! look it up on care sheets! increasing temps work, it worked for my Medusa! one time it started again and i didn't do nothing for my male it went away on its own!

Temps for burms should be 92 warm side, no lower than 82 cool side. Only put in enough water to drink, not to soak in, and raise temps in the whole rubbermaid to 92 degrees F. Are there any bubbles or mucous present in the mouth area or nostrils? I would recommend a vet trip to check, Just to be on the safe side. Burms are very susceptible to RI's if not kept properly, and for some reason, have a harder time getting over them than most other snakes. Vet help(antibiotics) are required in 99% of cases, un less the burm is very young.
