Lost a beardie yesterday....

yesterday i woke up and found one of our beardies dead in its enclosure....

It was a Snow x Red Sandfire which we have been having problems with since we got it...

We acquired two from the same clutch, however there were two groups of hatching dates with a week in between....the oldest one has been growing like a weed and up until yesterday was about 10 times the weight and size of the one that is dead....

The little one would pick her days when she would want to eat, and had shown little to no growth even when she did eat...

For some reason, she wouldn't touch her crix if they were dusted with calcium, it was if she could differentiate between brown and white crix and chose not to eat the white ones...

We ended up mixing calcium in with the crix to make sure she got her supplements....

We are honestly dumbfounded as to why she showed no sign of growth.....and is now dead...

We were assured that the beardies were 100% healthy and vet checked...and they came from reputable breeders as well...

It was a big loss both emotionally and financially and will be weary when purchasing our next ones...,

We were told that beardies can have different growth rates but this was just going on for too long....
And the weird thing is it didn't have any parasites....

upset and confused,

Gvg and C.t

Did you have them in the same cage. It could be that the beardie that died was stressed out from the other beardie. Im no beardie expert, so its just my opinion
