Big enough for mice??
Judging by the size of my patternless would you say that he is ready to be fed pinky mice?

It's hard to tell by the picture how big he is. How much does he weigh? His head and neck have to be big enough.

It's hard to tell but he still looks like he might be to small for pinkys.

It's hard to say but you might try a day old pinky, just make sure that it's smaller then the diameter of the head.

A ruler, dollar bill, or your hand. I think someone previously posted that the girth of the mouse should be do bigger than the width of the eyes. (hmm does that make sense? I't's friday me brain no work more)

I put him up to a ruler and he is a bit over 7 inches long
so is he ok for pinkies

As some of you know I'm new to this (don't even have my gecko yet, just the set-up). So, this may be a dumb question--I thought Leos could live off of gutloaded insects?? Why do they need to eat baby mice?

You're right, they don't need to. It can be beneficial to feed them once in a while to gravid females or to a Leo that needs fattening up but for a perfectly healthy non-breeding Leo, it's not necessary but some like to do it as an occasional treat for variety.
