Can anyone talk ringed pythons with me?

I have just discovered this species. They are gorgeous. I found some information on VPI's website. The size looks manageable. The temperment looks OK. Apparently they are better feeders than Ball pythons. Does anyone have one, that can share their experiences with me?

The only bad part is it looks like they lose that beautiful red-orange coloration to a brownish irradescent hue withing 6-12 months of birth.

Also, if anyone has any links to any US breeders and costs that would be helpful.
