My Florida Kingsnake (Brooksi) has been having problems with his shedding since I have him. I've had to soak him in the tub for 3 out of 4 sheds. This time around when I saw him haze over, I gave him a humid hide to use (which he did use). Well, he did his "usual" shed. He sheds off his head section and just stops!!! After seeing him with his head section off, I placed him back in his humid hide, where he stayed for 2 days, and he STILL didn't try shedding any more off. So, he got another bath today. He just seems to forget he has more than just a HEAD!!! Anybody else with dumb snakes?
Actually, I like watching him swim around . And it is kinda cool to watch him shed in my hands. The one time he did shed right it was a perfect shed. I just don't know about this guy . I mean, how do you teach a snake to shed? LOL
I wouldn't make Ivy swim if you paid me, she would thrash like hell and musk like hell, the last 6 handlings i've had with her she's been really good so I don't want to mess it up lol.
Thanks for the insight Cranwill. I guess I'll just have to put up with it till he "learns" to do it himself. LOL
Andy: He seems to enjoy swimming. He'll swim from one end back to the other. He doesn't even try getting out. I put my hand in the water to give him a resting place and he'll swim right up to it .
