Good Deal or Bad?
I am going to buy 1.3 66% het albino bci for 385 (american money) shipped. Is this a good or bad deal? In american currency, how much do they usually run for? These are babies, about 12-15 inches, eating ft.

Sounds like an okay deal. 66% hets arent worth that much more than normals... I've seen them go for 150-175 CDN.
The only problem with that is, is if your male ISNT a het, none of the babies will be albinos and they'll all be really low % hets that won't be worth anything more than normals. You'd be better off investing in a 100% het male and some 66% females, that way you can at least sell the babies as 50% hets if none of them are albinos, or 100% hets if some of the babies are albinos.
Did that make sense?

100% het albino male
I still want more input on the 66%'s.
How much do 100% hets run for? And if you know where I can get one can you give me the link?

You're WAAAAY better off getting a 100% het male and then the 50% or 66% possible het females. Possible het males are a dead end. If that one male ends up being a normal, you're screwed.
Het albino males are under $200US usually. You'd be better off spending $400 on a 100% het female and 0.2 66% het females.

Getting snakes that are 50% and 66 % het. are a gamble. They could pay off for you and your stoked, or they could flop. I my self am not a gambling man so I stay away and go with 100% hets. Are these bci's from the same clutch? take care Nick

Just look it up Chris... I posted some links from the KS classifieds - they ARENT hard to find.
Since they are from the same clutch, I wouldnt go with the 1.3... you don't want to be breeding siblings together - its done way too much and just look at the problems that some albinos have.

I agree with Jeff in that a poss. het male isn't the best plan. You should get 100% het male and the possible het females. As he said its a deadend.
I also agree with what Zoe said. I woulds suggest getting unrelated babies as well, (make sure they are the same line, Kahl and Sharp lines are incompatible I believe). Why do you want to inbreed them when there is such a variety of bloodlines available? Albinos/hets are not so rare that you need be inbreeding like that IMHO.

My opinion: go with the for sure 100% so you know exactly what you're getting. I've bought Hypo boas that are possible triple het for sunglow and the guy just charged me for the hypo and doesn't charge for possible. To me that's the way to do it, and that's the way I plan to sell my babies.
