Im new to the forum and I have 2 captive Rough Green Snakes. My female just laid about 8 eggs. I came home from work and only noticed one egg. Has one of the 2 ate the other eggs? I have searched all over the net to find out if Rough Green Snakes will indeed eat their own eggs. I havent really looked to close as they could have just moved them. If someone could shed some light on this subject I would really appreciate it.
Thanks and have a great day!
These snakes are not egg eaters. Their diet consists of insects and arachnids according to my field guide. They don't eat frogs, toads, or rodents? You searched the enclosure? Plus, if they did eat any of the eggs there would be crushed regurged shells in the enclosure. It's a mystery to me. =\
