Defecation

While this isnt the most pleasant subject it certainly is one that has risen my eyebrow. While holding my king with in the past 2 weeks, he has deficated on me and it wasnt pleasant. I think he just got startled but could there be something wrong? Also how long should I wait after eating until I pick up the snake? If the question is species dependant, the snake is a Cali. King that was mixed with a regular Cali and albino. He's about 2 and a half feet long.

Try not to handle any snake for a day or two after its fed. To much handleing can stress it to the point of barfing up what you just fed it , and if you think getting dumped on is unpleasent you aint smelled anything yet.
I have 3 kings and never had it happen but i have been musked a good bit though , its just a way for the snake to say hey im not happy with this put me back .lol (funny thing is it works every time).
Keep your handleing sessions short to 5-10 min after a week or two go 10 - 15 min see how that goes it all takes time .

I think the worst thing i have been dumped on was a 5 foot water monitor .. man oh man was that ever gross.. their feeces come out like a shower!

yeah i've been doing that phil and it's worked so far. I was just concerned for the snake's health if it had the craps or something but all is well now. Thanks for the help!

I don't know if anyone here has seen or smelled cane toad poo, but what it lacks in ooziness it makes up for in size!!
